IXON is happy to announce that the IXrouter3 4G Global has officially been approved by Verizon in the United States.

With the Verizon Open Development certification, it’s now possible to connect the IXrouter3 4G Global to the Verizon network. Verizon is one of the world’s leading providers of technology, communications, information and entertainment products and services.

Due to Verizon’s broad coverage in the United States, IXON received numerous requests from customers to provide support for connectivity via Verizon. In addition, Verizon is a financially attractive solution which regularly offers great deals for businesses. However, to connect the IXrouter via Verizon, a Verizon Open Development certification is needed.

Certification process

As many companies have experienced over the past year, the COVID-19 pandemic complicated the process. The Verizon testing facility was closed down, but thankfully Verizon offered an alternative way of testing through their Auto-Certification Platform. “This possibility enabled us to successfully perform all required tests remotely. Our contacts at Verizon supported us intensively throughout the entire certification process and we can't thank them enough for their assistance,” said Ramona Eikelenboom, Team Lead Product Support at IXON.

Meeting customer demand

Sjors Thijssen, account manager at IXON, said: “We’re happy that we can now meet customer demand and connect to Verizon’s cellular network. This certification further strengthens IXON’s ambition to address all servicing needs of machine builders and system integrators in the field of Remote Access & IoT services. Furthermore, it helps our customers in the US and Canada to improve the added value of their remote service. We would like to thank our Product Support team for successfully guiding the certification process.”

The IoT market in the United States

IoT is a fast growing market in the US. The North American Industrial IoT market is estimated to reach around $26 billion (€22 billion) in the end of 2020. In 2025, the market size is expected to be $59 billion (€50 billion). Users of IoT are discovering more and more useful options for their businesses in the field of remote access, IoT platforms and data logging. The Verizon certification hence comes at an ideal time!
