Yvon Vreugdenhil - Kuenen

In this edition of our Employee Spotlight, we sat down with Yvon Vreugdenhil - Kuenen, Operations Support Employee, to learn more about her role, what inspires her, and what it’s like to be part of the IXON team. 

What did you do before joining IXON?

Yvon: “Before I started at IXON, I worked at an amusement park. There, I was active as a guest contact center employee and as an Events Coordinator. In both roles, my main focus was ensuring that guests had a great day and that they could come to me with any questions or issues.

In terms of my background, I have completed the following studies: Event Marketing and Communication (MBO level 4) and an HBO Associate Degree in Management (specializing in event, project, and change management). Both programs were quite broad, but a clear common thread was planning and organizing.

During the COVID period, the leisure sector came to a complete standstill, and I unexpectedly had to look for a new job. At that time, my mother had already been working at IXON for several years and pointed me to an interesting vacancy that seemed like a great fit for me. That’s how I eventually joined IXON.”

What do you do at IXON, and what do you enjoy most about your job?

"At IXON, I work as an Operations & Support Employee. In this role, I am responsible for
processing all incoming orders, handling customer inquiries, and preparing export
documentation. I also have weekly contact with my colleague in the United States, who is
responsible for order processing there. Additionally, I serve as the first point of contact over the phone, so if you call IXON, there’s a good chance you’ll reach me.

What I enjoy about my work is seeing how many different countries our product is shipped to and interacting with people from many different nationalities. At the same time, I also enjoy the local recognition: it’s quite common while I’m out and about to see a company name and wonder, “Where do I know this from?” only to realize that it’s an IXON customer. And the number of those keeps growing."

What accomplishment are you most proud of at IXON?

"I am proud that our team has gone through two major system transitions in the past. During the go-live phases, we had to quickly familiarize ourselves with the new processes to ensure that operations continued smoothly, customers were not affected, and orders kept being processed without interruption.

I also take pride in how I have grown in my English communication, particularly with colleagues. We work with many international team members, including my American colleague, whom I speak with weekly. Despite the distance and time difference, I make sure his work continues smoothly by acting as the link to headquarters and coordinating there whenever necessary."

Yvon is a true team player. She combines her creativity with a customer-focused mindset, allowing her to find the right solution for every client and colleague.

Why do you enjoy working at IXON?

"I really enjoy working in a team with many young people. Since we are often in a similar stage of life, it’s easy to bounce ideas off each other about things beyond work. I also appreciate the flexibility IXON offers to organize your own work and bring your own ideas, which you are then allowed to put into practice. This makes it a pleasant and motivating way to work."

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

"In my free time, I attend a weekly Pilates class, which I always look forward to. I love
personalizing things with a device called a "Cricut," which I purchased last year to make
items for our wedding. I also really enjoy creating table settings for dinners. Last year, I
received my first project to design and decorate a table for a 21 dinner."
